Choosing a fabric color
I'm going to work this angel next because I kinda hate my current project. I like the look of this on blue spruce Belfast, but I don't like working on Belfast. I'm thinking about doing it on tumbleweed linen instead. Any opinions? I've never seen this color in person, so I don't know if it's dark enough for a white project.

Well, I haven't seen Tumbleweed linen in person, but I've read that its DMC color equivalent is DMC 3023. Do you think you'd want to do the angel on that shade?

Sorry to see your Topaz project go. I was enjoying it! If you're up for it, I (and I'm sure others, too!) would like to see updates on your progress with this angel when you start it!! :)

Thanks, kh. I know I love to see the progress of other stitchers and wish more people would post them! I think it may be too tedious to get the pictures posted. I take pictures with my tablet, so it's pretty easy for me, but not everyone has a tablet. I couldn't get it to work with my phone, which takes much better pictures.

I will keep a progress thread for my angel.

Oh, and I saw that there DMC equivalent was 3023, but I believe it is darker than that.

I was just looking at my last angel, which was stitched on blue spruce. It looks really good. I'm going to go ahead and use it again. The angels just look so good on blue spruce.

I love the blue spruce color, especially when working with the white flosses of angels. I'm considering using blue spruce OR 28 count Cornflower Blue Jobelan that is hand-dyed and has streaks of white in it that I think would imitate clouds for L & L "Angel of Mercy" pattern I have...

Always thought Secret Squirrel made things too tedious. Master Designers like Marilyn Leavitt Inblum never had to use 130 colors & fill every square.

Love this angel.

Before I saw SQ, I had decided that I would only stitch things designed originally for cross-stitch. I got distracted for a while there. Now I'm back to angels and alphabets.

Me too. I have about 6 Artecy patterns, but after Lilac Cat, I'm sure I won't stitch them.

jl,
Why not regarding the Artecy patterns?

2 are the Shiney Sun for Ricky the cat, a Cody Country, & 3 Artecy beyond Lilac Cat. These, & companies like SQ or HAED, take art & photographs, work them through computer software, and create beautiful pictures. The color changes are tedious for me, as is all that crossstitch.

Different strokes for different folks. They're really popular now, and I thought I'd like them.
