Working on black fabric
I use the American Dream lap frame for my stitching. I will be starting a new project and working on black fabric (14 count) for the first time. Will using a white pillowcase or a lap light help with this type of frame?

That's good to know. I was thinking since the frame would be almost vertical to the pillowcase or light that they would not work as well.
Thanks

jlhewes is correct. It DOES help! I've done a project on 28-count black fabric and used a white sheet over my lap. It helped me from pulling out my hair when looking for the holes in the fabric...

OK. Thanks for the information.

Coastlmom, it is the reflected bright light that is helpful...holes easier to see, but a light tabletop works well, too....cooler than being "draped". :)

It's not for a pillow. It is called Cat sleeping on Bookshelf. It's a kit made by Verachtert in Belgium. Although it is a kit, I'm going to use DMC floss.

Will you grid the fabric with white thread?
