Wasn't there a chat about DMC floss....
Wasn't there a chat in the not-so-distant past regarding the floss in KITS being thinner than the DMC floss that a stitcher buys individually in the store?

I have a KIT (believe it or not) from the The Silhouette series which has the included floss listed with DMC floss numbers. This 'kit" floss does match the DMC colors I bought individually from a craft store, but when I started to stitch with 2 strands of the "kit" floss, it wasn't giving coverage. Three strands work but by doing 3, I risk running out before the pattern is done and not having the same dye lot.

contact Sillouette co. where you had got your kit and tell them about your problem with the floss they will be sure to supply you with the floss. Good luck.

Several stitchers have found the newer DMC from the stores to be thinner.

UGH! Is this a DMC tactic to increase the number of strands used by stitchers to sufficiently cover the fabric? ie. instead of getting good coverage with 2 strands, a stitcher has to use 3 strands of floss for coverage, thereby having to buy more floss?? Color me "suspicious".....

I have a supply of DMC thread from the Dark Ages and just purchased their newest colors that came out this year. Haven't noticed any difference. Would be interested in knowing how many other people are having this problem.
