is there a place for the child's name and birth date on this pattern?

I don't know if there is anything on the pattern, but if there was anything designated I would think that it would be on the picture. Nothing says that you can't add the name and birth date anyplace that you want on the picture. You can do a straight line of lettering either above or below the design. Change one or more of the words with your own wording. If you are really creative, you could add a curvy line with the lettering as part of the smoke. It is your project, personalize it any way that you want. Just be sure to allow for extra fabric if you do anything beyond the original pattern size. Be creative and have fun!

Bruce is absolutely correct. This would be a darling birth announcement piece. Just add a few inches to give you room for stitching. Pick your alphabet and chart it out in advance. It will probably change where the center of the finished stitching is. Then add an extra six inches to the width and height of the purchased fabric. Make sure that you post a picture when it is finished so that we can view the finished masterpiece.

I am wondering how hard the lettering was for people. I just finished a Vervaco, with a lot of curves, half stitches, it was difficult to make it look each square filled in. So this the question, are there many curves in this pattern, esp on the letters that are darker? Thanks! Did anyone ever add the name in the smoke? I think it would be sooo cute! How did the letters turn out either in the smoke trail or at the bottom?
