Finished!!!!
I ordered this on June 24, 2015 and completed it November 28, 2015. It is gorgeous!!! Much prettier than the picture. It is easy, although lengthy, to do. No back-stitching and only full cross stitches, The pattern is very well laid out. I started on page one instead of in the middle as the directions suggest. I figured the size and added six inches. Because it is done as an all-over design, I used aida. Don't hesitate to order this one.

Beautiful. I love roses. I have a pattern on my wishlist, it's white roses but doubt that I'll ever do it. It's an all over as well. I cleaned out my stash today and came across my "Garden of Delight"........... One day! I also came across a boatload of small Lizzie Kate designs. Maybe I'll do a few of those in between. So little time.

Where will you be displaying this work of art? How many hours per day did you stitch? Many, I bet, since you completed it in 5 months! What an accomplishment.

TEXAS -- Did you find any goodies that you had forgotten about when you cleaned out your stash. Did you get rid of some things or did you just re-organize? I dropped a floss bobbin case that I had not closed tightly. The DMC #3700s and 3800s scattered all over the floor!! Oh well!

LOL, I found too many, Nancye! I misplaced a pattern, I have the copies of it but not the color key. I was playing fast and loose there for awhile. Also a container with bobbins for a Thanksgiving project is still at large. I won't be stitching it any time soon and thought it best to put it back.
Yes, I threw a few things away. :( You got to know when to hold and know when to fold them, this was one of those times.
I'm glad that you posted. How difficult is it to make a spread sheet for floss? You mentioned that before and the idea has not left my mind. I am especially interested to do one for the over dyed floss now that I am accumulating more and more. It's too expensive to have duplicates and I want to keep track of it.
I am not finished because I got sidetracked which led to more spending unfortunately but not too much. I sometimes write notes on the Gentle Art tags when I listen to TV while stitching. I had heard a mandolin virtuoso, Avi Avital, several months ago but could not remember his name or where I had written it down. Lo and behold today I came across it and ordered the CD. Yes, I know, CDs are out but I can't get into all the new equipment. I find all these cryptic notes to myself and can't remember what half of them mean. Only goes to show it's a good idea to clean out things from time to time. In my case in any case. :)
I hate it when that happens and you have to spend at least 30 minutes to organize them again. It's happened to me more than once. DH was so nice the last time, he picked them all up for me and put them on bed. I had walked away I was too angry. :)
PS DD gave me a very brief course of instruction on spread sheets several months ago. I hope that I can remember.

Hi.....can you assist me in figuring out the directions...I'm at a total loss as I have never had instructions like these. Each page is the same size with no variations in heights, ie.....the middle roses are higher and then drop down to the leaves on the ends. Also, I start on the top left of page one and the starting thread colors are winter white and pale yellow. Shouldn't they be the leaf color? I can call you if it would be easier to discuss or you can call me. Sure hope you can help me. Let me know.

Thanks,

Kathy Marendo

Kmarendo, you are in the chat room. Welcome! Somebody in here can probably assist you. Easiest way to start is by organizing your pattern...I like to lay mine out on a table or a bed. Are the pages not numbered? You should be able to see all of the pattern when they are aligned properly. I start most of mine in the center, unless there isn't anything in the center. I never start in the top left, but looking at the picture white and light colors sound right because they want you to stitch the background.
I've had patterns that I had to number lines, locate centers, map it so it's easier to navigate.
If you don't want to stitch the background, it should be easy enough to find your beginning once you have your pattern aligned and center found. ∆ usually marks the spot!
Welcome to the chat and Happy Holidays!
