Wow
I have been off the chat board for some time now. I tried to log in but kept getting a site called Everything latch hook . Are these two sites related? Also could not remember my password and had also to change my email. So I re-registered as a new person. I hope Kristi sees this post.I have one more round to go with the cheMO and then we will see. In the mean time I have a question. My husband got me a cross stitch kit to give me something to do while sitting in oncology for hours
this is a bucilla kit with color numbers I don't recognise. They all start with a 1 such as 1379 or 13379. They are NOT dmc. I am concern because of previous experence. Should I just call Bucilla and hope they can help or should I ditch the floss that can with the kit? I would have to match my DMC. I also have a cross stitch reference chart for anchor floss.
Sorry this post is so long but it is good to be back.

So glad you are back! We missed you. Great news that chemo is ending. Most of us dislike the kits because it seems that they are often short of floss. Bucilla is not DMC floss. They will send more of their floss if you run out, but it takes a while. You can try to match it to DMC or Anchor, but it is indeed different. There are many sites that have conversion charts available. I like cyberstitchers.com. Since I am old, tetited and boted, I'd be happy to help you convert to DMC or Anchor. My email address is pittsuze63@yahoo.com

Welcome back Sydney!! It's totally fine that you re-registered as a new user but we could've helped you get your password changed and at least gotten you logged in back in, lol! But no worries....all that matters is that you're back :) Glad to hear you have one round of chemo left as well!! Please keep us posted on how the follow up goes. I hope you are hanging in there and keeping that positive attitude going :)

That was so nice of your husband to get you a kit to work on :) I do know Bucilla uses their own floss for their kits and I don't think they are as terrible as Dimensions when it comes to customer service or providing replacements. I would at least try contacting them first to see what help they could be (if any?! Lol!) and then go from there. I would hate for you to switch out the floss and do all of that extra work when you maybe don't have to?! I went to Bucilla's website and here is there contact info:

Customer Service: 1-800-842-4197 Mon - Fri. 8am - 5pm EST

This is just my two cents :) I have never dealt with Bucilla directly but I can say that I haven't heard any bad things about them either?! I hope this helps somewhat? And again, it's so great to have you back!! Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you!!

I forgot to add that Everything Latch Hook is also one of our websites, lol!! We have Everything Cross Stitch, Everything Latch Hook and Everything Plastic Canvas. We also designed and sell the computer program, PCStitch :) We kind of do a little of everything, I guess?!

You forgot Patterns Online

Kristi -- are you responsible for all of the questions on all of these sites?. Seems like the cross-stitch alone is enough to keep you busy

I did forget PatternsOnline.com, Nancye!! I rarely have to deal with that part of the business so I tend to forget that we have that one as well, lol! And yes, I try to answer the message boards on all 3 websites but this one is most active so this is where I spend most of my time :)

Welcome back Sidney! Glad your back! Sue Pitt has you covered on this situation with Bucilla. I avoid "kits' most of the time unless I see one has a pattern I really like.

Hang in there and stay strong!!!

Wonderful to have you back, gs. I, too, have been thinking about you. I am also glad that chemo will end. That must be a huge relief.

I share the same feelings as the other ladies about kits. I very rarely buy one because I usually dislike he fabric and the finite amount of floss. It's like I don't have control over the project and have to worry about running out. Most seem to be dissatisfied with the way Dimensions is handling the floss problem. I just finished a small kit from Mirabilia and although I had to buy different fabric, it was 32 ct and I wanted to stitch it on 28 ct, I was more than satisfied with it. They supplied full skeins of Color Works floss and plenty of it.

Good luck and enjoy your project. Post a picture once you've started.
I'll continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
