Sort of a beginner
I haven't done cross stitch in about 25 years. I have hand sewn stage costumes several times over the years but not cross stitch. Is this a project someone as rusty as me, and wasn't super skilled at cross stitch even back in the day, could do or is this too complex for a rusty amateur?
Also, are any of the threads wool? I see wool on several kits and both my granddaughter and her mom is allergic to wool!

I would call 1-800-800-8517 which is the customer service number to find out if any wool is involved in the Christmas stocking project you have showing. Kristi and those who work in customer service are excellent with helping on this question. You definitely don't want to come in contact with wool if you both are allergic to it!!!!!
From my own perspective as a counted cross stitcher, and this is just MY opinion, I would start with a smaller, simpler project such as a Lizzie Kate or Little House Needleworks project if you consider yourself "rusty" and "kind of a beginner". You want to gain practice and confidence and make it fun to do a project and a small counted cross stitch project can do that for you. It doesn't take long to gain the confidence and experience with a small project; might want to even consider buying a "kit" that has everything in it- floss, pattern, cloth (usually 14-count aida), needle and instructions- as your first project.
I am NOT an employee of Everything CrossStitch, just one of the cross stitchers on this "chat" messageboard. We are a diverse group of stitchers, both male and femaile, that enjoy helping other stitchers out with questions and concerns. I've been cross stitching over 25 years and I'm still a "student", still learning but I absolutely LOVE doing counted cross stitching. Hope this helps! :)

Hello,

I looked up this item on our distributors website and it doesn't state that wool is used for this project. Aida fabric and cotton floss come in the kit and that's all our distributor has listed for it?!
