Changing project
I'm working on this chart again, put the alphabet tapestry away. I guess I have a short attention span! I'm working this on 32-count sandstone linen. I tried cream 28-count first and I didn't like the look of two strands of floss on it and the color was too light for my taste.

Instead of the village scene, I'm going to stitch an alphabet. Maybe over 1, haven't chatted it yet.

Over one on 32 ct, Simon? You must be a glutton for punishment. :) Or else you are very young with excellent eyesight. This is a beautiful sampler. I love doing samplers.

You're right. I hadn't really considered how stitching over one on 32-count would work out! Anyway I've decided to follow the pattern the way it is designed. It does have a bit of petit cross in it. They are small figures. I think I can do that.

I have two other designs that feature a home scene surrounded by a complex flower border. I think the three would make a lovely set. Of course they are all huge projects, lol, because that's what I like! Two charts aren't available anymore. See? Pattern hoarding is important!

simon, this I stunning. I was looking for a post and saw this beautiful work of art. When you run out of projects please come and do mine.
I have several table toppers that are done in shadow stitch and I cannot remember how to do it. I also have to do research on how to secure the floss when there is only one stitch in the middle of nowhere. I think that falls into the category of pin stitch. Yes, you make an excellent point for pattern hoarding!
What type of yarn do you use for your doll sweaters? I like working with wool but washing the item is somewhat time consuming and laborious. Well, you are an adult and your doll clothes don't get dirty. I guess, I'll use the synthetics for my granddaughter's doll sweaters.
I looked at the photo again -30 pages!!!!!!

You may well have this done by now, although I have had projects that took more than 2 years. In any case, I just ran across this and just wanted to tell you how much I appreciated your beautiful stitching. I, too, prefer more complex projects, but this one is a real doozy. I hope it turned out as fantastic as it appears to have been started.

BEAUTIFUL!!! Such gorgeous stuff! :)

I’m putting this on my ECS ‘wishlist’. It is gorgeous! The description calls for 28-count but Simon must has ‘Superman’ eyes to do it ‘over one’ on 32-count.
HA! HA!HA! Right up my alley! This was a 2015 ‘chat’. I wonder if Simon has made headway on it...
I have to use: my glasses and looking through my ‘Mag-eyes’ AND looking through my lighted stand Magnifier to do ‘one over one’ on 28-count on “Love Me Not”. I blame the worsening of my cataracts for the increased need of the above.

That is beautiful. I really like working on linen, one over one. It does take a magnifying glass, for me.

Absolutely gorgeous. You are a braver person than I. I think the most I would do a one over on is 28 count.

Bermuda, evidently your eyes are better than mine - I had not even noticed that this was a 2-year old post!

Simon, that is really quite beautiful. Don't know if I could do something like that but what really interests me is what is holding your project. It looks like q-snaps and some kind of stand. I have tried several different stands and they were too flimsy. Please let me know. Thanks.
