Hi there - 16 or 18 ct aida is even smaller than the 14 ct. So if you are having problems seeing the 14 it will be even worse trying the 16 and 18 cts. I hope this makes sense.

Cheryl is correct. The higher the number for the fabric the smaller the stitches. If you are having trouble with 14 ct. then 16 or 18 ct. will be even worse for you.

Hi ejajuer,

This is our design. you can stitch it on any fabric count you like. The higher the count, the smaller the finished project will be.

You could try a lower count such as 11 but the design will be larger when finished. You may also need to use 3 or 4 strands of cotton instead of 2 as the fabric will be more visible between stitches with just 2 strands, you can do a small test section with a dark colour to see how many strands you prefer.

To work out the size of the finished design on a different count you divide the pattern stitches by the fabric count.

So for example this pattern is 300w x 217h in stitches. If you use 11 count 300 divided by 11 = 27.5inches approx wide and 217 divided by 11 = 20inches approx high.

You also need to allow at least 3 extra inches of fabric all around to assist with framing. So if you use 11 count your total fabric should be at least 33.5inches wide by 26inches high,

Personally I stitch with 18 count, however I use a stand with a lamp and magnifier and I would highly recommend getting one of these when you use higher counts.

Please let me know if you have any further queries.

Thanks and Best Wishes
