floss
Hi I am new to the chat board, I was wondering if any of you have used the number Dark Turquoise #13765. I am trying to see if I can find a skein so my grand daughter who is new to counted cross stitch , she needs a skein so she can complete she project. I was wondering if it came as a skein or in a package deal ? As I have been a counted cross stitch stitcher for a along time and I am not up to date on all the new numbers. At Christmas one year I was given two skeins of every color out there, and and have been only purchasing what I need from time to time as I need it which is not too often. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thank you.

I know that I don't have it but if you listed the brand name that might help someone else identify it.

Hello,

We do sell DMC Floss and we do have 3765 available. We sell them by the skein for 49 cents each. To find our floss, just hover over the "Item Categories" link at the top of the page and then scroll down to "Floss & Thread". The DMC link should be on the very top and just click on that to be taken to the DMC floss page. Find the color you need, enter in the quantity of skeins and continue the checkout process :) Hope this helps!

Does the floss you are looking for happen to be floss that is from a KIT?

We've discovered on this chat that the names of floss used by designers vary...so you decide by the number. You can't really judge by the colors used by computers because the color that is translated by the ECS computer is translated differently by my Kindle and by your computer. Kits use DMC color numbers, call them by their own names, and use language that, to me, deceives the unaware. If she is using a kit, I urge you to take a sample to someplace that you can use sunlight to compare colors with. Anchor, Sullivan's, & DMC have been praised as colorfast...but with a kit, you really don't have a clue whether it is, or not. If it is a kit, it might be better, and easier, to notify the manufacturer that you need more. Good luck! :)
