Just curiuos
I'm wondering what everyone does with all their finished projects,
Do you give them as gifts or keep them. Do you have more than one going at a time?
I love doing this but seem to get bored while working on the same one.

I've given a few of my finished projects as gifts but mostly they're for my house decorations:) I have a small pile stacked on the guest bed at the moment waiting for their turn to shine (why must framing be so danged expensive???)

And I shotgun a lot! ('Shotgun' is the term my dad used to use in describing starting another project before you finish with another one;) ) I'm getting a bit better though, I have only 3 I'm currently doing. The Sealyham Terrier is worked on in the morning, the fox in the afternoon and the needlepoint is Sunday's work. And boy do I have a long list to work on whenever I finish with the current ones!

Most of my cross stitch projects have been given away as gifts. I told a new friend that I love to cross stitch and she said, "Really? I would like to see some of your work."

I had nothing to show for all those years of stitching. Now I stitch mainly for my own home and take my time. I enjoy the process without deadlines.

I tend to work one project at a time. I develope a memory for symbols of colors and design elements. Makes stitching a little easier and faster since I don't have to study the graph so hard. But starting another project is tempting! I have so many things in my stash!

I have other hobbies like quilting and watercolor that I do when I get tired of cross stitch.

Love the term "shotgun", that's me all the way, I have many almost finished, although I busted my ankle and finished a few, but now that I have all these cross stitch sights I started buying more. I frame my own because I cannot afford to have them profesionally done, they are not perfect but they still look very nice.
I'm wondering if there is any spray adhesive I could use that will not harm the fabric after time.

Usually they become gifts, framed and under glass to protect from smoke damage and dust. A few stay home as I make some for my husband an a few for myself. Some become part of pillows in a person's decor colors. I don't make ornaments.

My finished ones have all been framed. Some for gifts and a couple I have kept and are hanging on my walls. I did 'Devotion' a Janlynn kit that was just the head of Mary from the statue 'Pieta'. I made it as an auction item for a Catholic charity. They loved it and it made a surprising amount of money for the group. I also have a few unfinished ones that are boxed up with pattern books. Someday they may get completed.

I haven't done all that many projects over the years as most of them have been larger in size. I work full time, so nights and weekends are my only times to work on it. Have also taken some very long breaks when I didn't stitch at all. Life happens!

Sheava,
Many of us stitchers, including myself, do small cross stitching projects at the same time we do the "larger" cross stitch projects to break the monotony of just doing the big project day in and day out. :)

I have only kept 1 I have done. The others have been gifts. I am doing one for my oldest daughter to put in her room. Instead of framing it, I'm going to make it into a canvas wall hanging. I do want to eventually sell some, but we'll see.

I have so many finished cross stitch kits that I am in the process of making a quilt out of them. Have no idea what I'll do with it when I'm done with it. Probably donate it to the church for our yearly auction. Always someone in need. M

Love the quilt idea, to bad I don't know how to do that. I'll just keep stitching away give some away and keep some, my kids call me old because I do this, (I'm only 51) but when they see a finished one they like they have no problem asking for it.

My finished projects are all put away for my personal enjoyment. I once did a lovely picture of a dog for someone and I finished it as a pillow. You can imagine my shock to learn that she put it in her dog's bed! Another time I did a picture for a friend, including the framing and a few months later I found it at a thrift store. My mean streak had me buy it and display it where she saw it the next time she visited. No words were said but her expression was worth it! Only people that stitch can appreciate the work that goes into these items that we so lovingly make.
