Aw, jersey, thank you so much. How beautiful and thoughtful. I have to get mine planted. I see little bud on the tips. I've been busy or else it's been raining. The ground was too soggy today. DD and I went to Home Depot today but the selection was scarce. It's too late in the season here already. We also went to one of our favorite independent nurseries with the same results. I didn't buy anything. Well I bought two little pots of purslane. I don't know if you are familiar with purslane, it a succulent. Nothing spectacular but a great performer here. I put in in containers and am never disappointed. The colors are great and when I "forget" to water they pop right back. I'm thinking of planting begonias. Haven't decided yet. They look boring in the flats but I am hoping that they'll look better in the beds. I have to google what diseases, etc they are prone to.
Thanks again, jersey, that what so nice of you.

Sharon, I love bachelor buttons, especially the blue ones. They remind me of my childhood. :)

Texas stitcher, I didn't know what "purslane" was so I looked it up and I think I have 2 pots on my kitchen windowsill. The internet says it has quite a lot of medicinal qualities but be careful there's a "hairy" kind which is poisonous. Who knew?

maubenett, I have read somewhere that some varieties are herbs. I don't remember what they are used for or in. I'm thinking that what I plant is more of an ornamental variety. The flowers open in the morning and one can almost watch them open. I think they only bloom for one day. If you break of a stem and stick it into dirt you have a new plant in a matter of days. Here, they come in almost all colors except blue. I had no idea that they are poisonous. That is good to know and puts a new spin on things. Does yours bloom?

Texas Stitcher,
Mine never bloom so maybe they are a different variety. I've grown different flower pots of them and give them to my daughters-in-law. When I saw the one on my daughter-in-law's kitchen windowsill it was huge, I couldn't believe it! Good luck with yours! I wish mine would bloom, but they are pretty.
