Framing & Backing
I am working on small (3" diameter) cross stitch ornaments (Chrismons for our church tree)and need advice on backing and framing. I would like to use round gold color frames and white backing. I see that gold frames are available but am unsure what to use to back the needlework with. It must have a white back. Any advice for a newbie is appreciated!

Suggestions: use white mounting board for backing but if that is too thick consider using the white material ( I'm having a senior moment) opaque material that is used as backing to stiffen shirt collars and
Areas on blouses to make material stiffer

You can also use white cardstock paper from the scrapbooking section of your hobby store. It's acid free so it won't change the colour of your fabric or make anything yellow. Make sure to use an acid free adhesive, too!

Do you mean iron on interfacing?

LOL,,, yes!!! That is the word! INTERFACING!!! Thanks xStitcher! What a senior moment! I felt like Steve Martin in The scene in the "dirty Rotten Scoundrels" movie where Steve is in the jail cell trying to remember the name of the man he talked to on the train!!!!
