supplies
Hello, I purchased the Jungle Babies instructions for a baby blanket and are in the process of stitching. I also purchased the thread list and have found I have run out of product because I only purchased one of each.
What is the amount to complete this project of each skein color of thread?

Regards,
Donna LaVita

Hello,

The floss list should be inside the booklet you have and it should tell you how many skeins of floss you need for each color. The information that we have on our website came from the Stoney Creek website so we have 1 skein of each color listed in our supply list. If the book has something different listed, please let me know. I don't have a physical copy of it in my hands to look at to make any changes. The only information I have came from the Stoney Creek website.

There is not a list in the Stoney Creek book of supplies needed, that is why I am reaching out to you for the Jungle Babies

Hello,

I have a contact at Stoney Creek that I can go to for supply lists if I don't have a copy of the physical book and that's the list they gave me. Do you have a copy of the book?

If you have the book, the book will list the floss colors and how many skeins of each one is needed. If the numbers of the skeins needed are different than 1, please let me know so I can make changes to our list and contact Stoney Creek about the error. If the skeins needed all say 1 in the book, then that is what Stoney Creek has listed as needed for this book of designs.

HELLO - I must come to the defense of Everything Cross Stitch on this issue. I absolutely understand how frustrating it can be to run out of supplies before finishing a project. The manufacturer of the leaflet is responsible for providing the appropriate information to the retailer who then provides it to the consumer.

Sometimes one stitcher uses more floss than another stitcher because they tend to run more floss securing the finished rows. Compare this to knitting a sweater. There is always a "suggested" number of yarn skeins. You are told to check your gauge. You can not blame the retailer if the manufacturer suggestions are incorrect.

I am not an employee of this company. Just a member of the Chat who likes to share ideas and give advice when it is needed.

I would like to help you with your issue. Contact Stoney Creek (a popular company). They should offer assistance. If not, contact me with a list of flosses you are running short of. If I have duplicates I will be glad to share with you.

Stay and participate in our Chat. I look forward to reading it every morning.

Donna -- can I assume that you purchased the Jungle Babies pattern from this site and not at a garage sale or EBay?

Yes of course I purchased the book and supplies from Everything Cross Stitch. Your company got my money so let's get your company to get me the information I need. I need a list of required supplies to finish my project! I have a copy of the book and can not find the supply list anywhere.

Donna -- Did I offend you? I did not intend to offend you. Let's get something straight. I am not an employee of Everything Cross Stitch.

Stoney Creek provided ECS with a suggested supply list.
Everything Cross Stitch assumes that the supply lists provided by the manufacturer are correct.

The problem was obviously with Stoney Creek. Kristi, at ECS, did not make a mistake but is trying to get the correct information.

I suggest that in the future, if you have a problem with a particular product from any company you first contact Customer Service not a public Chat Line.

I have checked some other sites that sell this leaflet. They all have the same supply list provided by Stoney Creek. Also, they all indicate that the supply list is in the instruction leaflet.

Honestly, I feel your frustration, but this issue needs to be addressed to Stoney Creek.

Hello,

The list that is provided on our website is what came from Stoney Creek and unfortunately, I do not have a book on hand to look at to confirm if the list is correct at the moment. I will contact my person over at Stoney Creek to double check this and I will also get a book ordered from our pattern distributor so I can double check it myself as well. I probably will not have this book until Monday since we are not open on the weekends. As soon as I hear something from Stoney Creek and/or get the book, I will make sure what we have posted is corrected. If it is not, I will correct it on our website and get you the supplies that you still need for the book. Thank you for your patience on this issue.

As for a color key, all books and designs have one. There should either be a full color key listed somewhere in the book or there will be a color key listed next to individual design. All books have to have a color key/floss list somewhere or else you wouldn't know what symbols go with what color. But I will double check on this when I get the book on Monday. I don't see why Stoney Creek would give me the wrong information for a floss listing but mistakes do happen and I will definitely contact them to see if there's a discrepancy. Again, I probably won't be able to respond to this until next week so thank you for your patience on this while I try to figure out what the issue is.

Donna - I wish you well on your search for the listings you are looking for. Kristi is the best and will have the answers for you by Monday. Please don't take any frustrations on our part as members of this chat room personally. We adore Kristi and Everything Cross Stitch and jump right in to defend them if things get a little sticky. I know that is not your intention - you are ready to work on and finish a new project and are unable to find an answer to your question. We have all been there at one time or another. I have stitched many Stoney Creek patterns over the years and have had the same problem with a few of their patterns. I recently did a pattern of the month series (6 monthly patterns) and kept running out of white glissen gloss. I ended up using 6 cards of this thread. The supplies list didn't have any numbers after the floss number so I assumed it only used one. I can't find it anywhere near me so I had to order and pay the shipping so I know where you are coming from. I have never had a problem with either Everything cross Stitch or Stoney Creek in resolving issues so please be patient. I know - easier said than done. Please stick with us on the chat room and you will make some incredibly great friends. They are great to jump in with advice and tips on how things can be done easier. I hope to hear from you again soon.
