Black aida
I started this pattern on the black aida that came with the kit. I CAN Not stitch on black. Does anyone have any suggestions on a different color aida I could get to stitch this pattern that would look good? I love the pattern and would like to stitch it but can't do black.
Thank you in advance.

Maybe an olive green?

Thank you. I may try that color. I think it would work.

I had the same problem with the black. I bought a lighted lap desk so now I can work with dark colored cloths, I can't remember where I bought it but it has been a lifesaver.

Stitching on black is difficult to be sure. I usually will put a white pillowcase on my lap to help me see the holes with a lighted magnifier.
I agree with Cory, a dark olive green fabric would make a lovely background as well as make the fox and the leaves stand out in the pattern.

I like the dark olive green idea too. You may have to add some black cross stitching in spots, but then I've done things like that. It's yours to do what you want. Thank goodness we don't have cross-stitch police 😀
