Hi ! It's definitely different !! It's a lot finer, and tends to twist more easily. There are things you can do to prevent that...using shorter lengths, using a laying tool, and there are products like Thread Heaven that 'tame' the thread , much like using beeswax on a regular thread. I find the thing that makes the most difference for me, is having really , really smooth hands. Lots of moisturizer !!!! And make sure you use a new needle with a smooth eye. Well worth the extra effort though.....the colours just glow!!
