This is definitely a project for the advanced stitcher. The model is stitched on 32ct. Vintage Meadow Rue Linen using Gentle Arts and Weeks Dye Works floss.

There are several different types of stitches used: cross stitches over 1 & 2 threads, Long Arm cross, Rice Stitches, Tent Stitches, Straight Stitches, French Knots, and Nun's Stitches.

The Horn Book to attach the stitching to can be purchased from Images Stitchery Designs.

Hope this information helps. Good Luck.

What is a hornbook? It's purpose, if any? Just curious

Jclifford I remember seeing hornbooks from my history readings in school. I am a "history junkie". I knew they were used in schools. I did some research and found out that they were started being used in England in the 1400's. They were used in schools as primers and to help with learning. A lot of times they contained alphabets and early reading for teaching on some type of writing paper. They were attached to the wooden frames. You can see a picture of one in use at Wikipedia.
