syagel, that's exactly what I use my computer for! Yes, I ask myself the same question. I was somewhat frantic during the few days that I was without. Suddenly I had a million things I "needed" to research. I do banking every couple of weeks but "needed" to check that - ridiculous. I missed the chat. It is very convenient. My daughter did such a wonderful job of connecting and transferring information. The only thing that did not get transferred is my favorites' list and the email addresses that are stored in the "To" line. I hope that the people will send me email so I can restore that. I liked the keyboard much better on the old one. I can't rest my hand on it or I lose everything that I have written. The old one was a Sony flatscreen, keyboard and mouse were wireless and the tower part, sorry I keep forgetting the technical jargon however simple, was integrated in the monitor part. I love no clutter stuff. Well, the computer portion was still good but the monitor part had gone out. So now I have a tower again and screen, etc. I was reluctant to get a similar product as the old one. I just have to get used to it.
As far as John Wayne goes - I can only imagine how many different colors go into it. You have to take a break from something like that or else it becomes boring. I look at a pattern and tell myself how quickly it will stitch up and that's usually the one that takes the longest. I had so many things that required tending to, various repair jobs, replacing of items, furniture deliveries, getting rid of old stuff, etc. All time consuming. I ordered a chair (stitching chair replacement) and was so disappointed. I bought it from a very nice store and had expected quality workmanship, was I wrong. There are two pleats on each side of the head rest that were off by about 3 inches. They advertise that their goods are American made, I'm leery of imports from a certain country, that's why I shop there but the promises are just that. So I had to call, then the designer comes out and clucks over it, takes pictures and promises to get back. It's been a week that means another follow up. In essence they are robbing me of valuable time. I'm 67 and want to enjoy what time I have left with fun things, not multiple calls to resolve issues. I feel that the problem is that these stores have become giants and don't care about one dissatisfied customer or two. When this house was built we had a home theater system installed for my husband - 500 cables sticking out of the wall - not even my daughter can make sense of it. Our granddaughter wants Netflix, so I had to call them 4 times to set up a house call to install a new DVD player. They were quick to request payment over the phone though. Now I have to wait around from 1 to 5 for them to show next week. I hate the attitude of most of these techs. I don't work in that area and don't know the language and don't care about learning it. If they were all that smart they could figure out what I want but most don't even listen because they have to "multitask". So sorry, syagel, thank you for listening. Now, I'm taking a couple of aspirins for my headache and when I feel better I'll stitch. Have a wonderful rest of the day and sorry again.
