This pattern uses 25count linen. I want to use 14 adia cloth. Can it be done?

Of course you can, it will come out a little smaller though... 28.5" x 36.6 ". You may find it a little bulkier to work on.

Heaven & Earth gives the size as 15 7/8 x 20 3/8 on 25 ct. fabric. The math on that indicates the design is stitched over 1 fabric thread. Means likely no partial stitches. I don't think H&E uses 'em anyhow. Means stitching on Aida cloth is fine. Size as Miss Kitty says. Takes 87 floss colors, plus a #4 braid.

I am currently working on this pattern and using an 18-count Aida. It is working up beautifully.

Thank you for you input. I want to do this pattern soon. I don't sually do patterns on the 18 & 28, because I don't trust my skills.

I am really late jumping in on this as my e-mail has been down for a while, but here are my thoughts. If you have started this already, good for you. It is a fascinating pattern. If you haven't started it yet, I would strongly suggest using something finer that 14 count. At 25 count it is already a very large project, and by increasing the size, it will be VERY large, but that may be what you want. I find that the detail is done very nicely with no backstitching involved because of the small stitches. I do find 25 count harder to work with. I use a magnifying glass, but my belief is that the detail is worth it. Good luck!

ECS has this pattern listed as stitched over 2 threads, but everything I find says it is stitched over 1 thread so jlhewes size for this is correct. It takes 87 different DMC colors but actually uses 121 skeins of floss because of more than 1 skein of certain ones. For example DMC #310 black uses 16 skeins of floss with this pattern. The pattern is many many pages long. Enjoy your project. it is beautiful.

Guess I messed up, then. I am doing it over a single thread with 25 count. Still large enough.
