I'm Baaack!
Hello everyone! It took me hours to get through all the chit chats that I have missed out on! Wow!

Well, let me tell you about my trip!!!

First of all, I got to my sister's house on Friday before my great nieces (4 and 5)got out of school! We caught up and here they come! They almost knocked me down they were so glad to see me (and I them.). First thing out of the oldest one's mouth is: Auntie are we going shopping? (I always take her shopping when I get them). I said of course and we did. I had them till Sunday.

On Saturday we went to the Memorial wall. This was very special and moving. The patrons of the wall treated us like royalty. We too a lot of pictures of the family in front of the wall and they had white crosses with all the fallen Vietnam vets' name on it. We made pics of that too with the family. They had helicopters (4 of them) and the girls wanted to sit in them, I took pictures of them sitting in the copters. It was a great day (rained early in the day, but clear when we went there). We had a wonderful time and the entire family was there. I got pictures of 4 generations starting with my mom all the way to the great granddaughters.

Well, low and behold, I wanted to download the pictures and you won't believe this!!!!!!

I LOST MY DAMN CAMERA!!!! I can't find it anywhere! I have turned everything upside down looking for it. I called the event people and they have not seen it. I thought I may have left it in one of the helicopters, but they said they didn't see it. I'm so mad at myself for that. I was the only one that took pictures. UGH! I'll eventually will get over it, but will never be able to recapture that moment! But all in all, the trip was great! I kept my nieces till Sunday when I had to reluctantly had to leave them. The oldest and I cried and cried. I told them I will be back when Santa Claus comes and we will go shopping again. She was happy with that. I came back on Sunday evening around midnight and back at work today. So now I'm catching up.

They slide down under car seats & get lost in luggage pockets. A camera's a little big, though I once lost a gold chain for months. Hopefully your sister will find it in the house somewhere.

Glad you had a great trip Jclifford. So sorry about your camera, hopefully someone will find it for you or you will find it tucked away in some nook or cranny. You do at least have your memories and you can't los them. Have a good week. Glad to have you back. I know when the Wall was here this Summer it was a moving visit for me.

Thanks Ladies. Yes it was very moving and very nostalgic for all of us. Even the grandchildren (our children) was very moved by it all.

I do hope you are correct and I will find my camera in some nook and cranny.

Why don't you ask your sister if she had found it? Good luck with your search.

j, so good to have you back. So sorry for the loss of your camera. I took roll after roll one time, long ago, and realized that I had never taken the lens cover off. Very sad. In your case though there is the chance that it is somewhere. After the excitement dies down it will most likely turn up. Maybe it's at your mom's or sister's? I hope that you'll find it. This was an especially meaningful event and the photos meant so much to all of you. If it is lost then the only other option is to take a trip to DC.
I'm praying that it will surface.
On the bright side, you did have a wonderful time that will never be forgotten. I'm very happy for you and yours. I can only imagine how moving it must have been, especially in your case.

Thanks everyone! It's nice to be back among friends. Texas Stitcher: DH and I took mom to DC about 7 years ago. HAd a wonderful time and it was very moving. This time, we had the entire family with her and took pictures. There was a picture of the four generations next to my father's name on a white cross.

Well hopefully it will turn up or someone get a conscious and call us.

I found my camera. There's a pocket behind the driver's seat and it was in there. Now I remember. I put it in there to lift my great niece into her carseat. Whew! The pics turned out great.
