Valdani Floss
Hate! Hate! Hate! About 1/2 through the angel, & she's going to be gorgeous. However, hate the Valdani floss. It's not even, thick & thin, & has fuzz balls. Either this is cool & I' m not, or they bribed the designer. Find alternatives!

So sorry, jl. You are halfway through you have to soldier on! I've never heard of Valdani. What type of fiber is it. Fuzzballs get on my last nerve, I feel your pain. I'm about to toss a couple of projects into the fireplace.
Listen to Miss C, nobody is running after you.

It's a beautiful project and with your skill level and patience it will be a masterpiece!

It's a hand dyed co!or fast cotton, made in Romania. In case anyone wants to find alternatives from Weeks or Gentle Arts:

Ebony Almond is black with very dark brown. Withered Green is a medium with lighter green in the DMC 935 family. Aged wine is a dark with very dark burgundy. DMC 902ish.

Sounds beautiful but in light of your difficulties, I think I'll pass. That would rob me of my last shred of sanity.

I have no experience with Valdini floss but this sounds like the same stuff that they put in Riolis kits. They are manufactured in Russia. I bought 4 of them there are called Cat and City. The thread in them is more like yarn. If you go to their website they claim that it gives the work greater depth but it just gave this stitcher bigger fits. Don't know much about agriculture in that area but I wonder if it has something to do with an access to cotton in that area.

It's just a cotton 6-strand hand dyed. The basic floss has thick &thin sections. Maybe that's supposed to look good. Linen has thick & thin threads.

Maybe. Ms C has a point when she gives us the history of DMC. LOL
