How do I get a instruction sheet to show me what to do?!!! This is my first

time to do cross stitch.

I have this pattern myself. You should have gotten the instruction sheet that tells you how to do it with the pattern when you ordered it. If you have not ordered it yet go to the Customer Service section and set up an account for yourself so you can order it. I went back and checked my pattern and all the instructions are in the leaflet including how to do the cross stitches, the colors of floss and how much to use, type and size of fabric as well as the diagram and the symbols. You should be all set to start. The Footprints saying is one of my favorite ones.

If this is your first cross stitch project it is a little advanced for a beginner. I would start on something simpler first. They have several beginner kits here at ECS.

ECS has some small patterns & kits on sale. Might give a small kit a test run to get started.

I totally agree. I also love the saying and tried to stitch it many years ago. It was a different motif and the lettering was much different, lots of 1/4 stitches. I started in the center and became so frustrated that I took the scissors to it. I donated the pattern along with many other ones that were far too advanced for an inexperienced stitcher.
We want to you love this hobby and not become frustrated on your first try.

Hi, Rudderbaker1,
Luckily you have landed in the right spot for beginning your new hobby. The above ladies are experts in helping for all your questions and there are many more who are eager to help and share their experiences.

Beginning with one of the small ornament kits is a great way to begin. This hobby is easy but we all have questions of varying complexity and sometimes the hardest thing is to know what questions to ask and how to express them.

Welcome, and happy stitching!

You have taken on a very awesome project. By chance, I scrolled through some old chit chats. On page 57 there is a comment on this piece. I don't remember the subject name but I am afraid that it was not very encouraging.
