lighting info
Thank you everybody for the information on lighting . I think I will get a ott floor lamp.
I'm working on " KITCHEN WITCH 1 " I thought I must be crazy to order it ,now I'm sure of it.
but maybe with good light I might not go blind :)
Hope Michaels or Joanns has a light sell soon .

I live in N. CA we usually have snow this time of year, but mother nature sure has turned her back on all of us. it looks like spring here and you folks in the east are covered in snow and or freezing.
Now we will have to worry about forest fires all summer and oh boy are them scare y.

I am looking at lighting too. So any info will help. I am trying to get my 'stash' up and running but I am waiting for the chair I ordered so I can set everything up. If that chair is coming from the East coast it will be a while. I am checking on that now. Can anyone tell me if L and L Winter Angel will be in anytime soon?

I am in Western Oregon, we have sunshine and warm temps, but we need rain. And our mountains need snow.......some one up there is playing games with the weather!

Rosemarie I will trade you my snow and cold temps here in NW Ohio for your rain and warm temps. Have a good week.

Like syagel, I got my floor lamp from Menard's, but had to order it online. It arrived quickly and is not just flourescent, but a full-spectrum or daylight, lamp! I can sort colors so much more easily. Even with shipping, lessentially than $50....

Su Pitt, where have you been?

TEX and all...been sick as a grumble of Pug dogs with pneumonia for one month plus. Had to get re-evaluated for continuing pool physical therapy, which has let me use my shoulder that docs wanted to replace. Been trying to save $$$ so I can get new glasses as my vision went to heck in less than one year....had every test known to man, including an MRI.
Therapy starts tomorrow for eight weeks, the another re-eval, but this time, I am getting that apt. EARLIER, so there isn't such a long break in between! Oh, forgot to say that DH also had pneumonia, so I also had to listen to him saying he was dying, coughing, whining. We both shared a doctor's appt., and we both got antibiotics, but I had to use two inhalers....

Have three or four finishes in the meantime. Missued being here, but too sick to do anything except stitch, of course!

Mehouk!! Where are you in NorCal? I am in Eureka...

Su pitt, I live in Burney Ca. I do my shopping in Redding an hour drive from home.
I'm sorry you have been so sick, I hope your better soon. I know how it is when your sick and so is your dh. men are such babys when they don't feel well.
we went through a spell of that last month ( not as sick as you have been ) he thought he was dying and I wanted to help him do it . :) just kidding I wouldn't do that.
How is your weather over there ? We sure need some snow. This summer will be more fire danger then ever. Last year was terrible .
Tale care

Sue Pitt,
Sorry to hear about how sick you have been and your DH as well. Pneumonia is definitely something NOT to play around with. Understand about the DH "sick" contortions verbalized when ill. I have a "DH" that get's sick and reverts back to the single-digit age bracket. And when you're sick at the same time, well it is like "Mehouk" said, it's a strain on a woman's constitution of patiently listening to it.

Mehouk" LOL! You must've been at your wit's end with your DH! Sounds like there are a lot of stitchers out there that have the same situations! That's why I work hard to keep my DH healthy; my DH had pneumonia many years ago and was laid up for awhile. One of the most difficult things during these "sick DH" episodes is that my DH would ask me questions on his medical status ie. "Do I have a fever?" "Is that medication need to be taken TWICE a day?" and when I gave him the honest answers and he didn't like the answer I gave him, he would begin to question my knowledge. Finally became
"fed up" with this and told him, "If you ask me a question and don't like my honest opinion or suggestion or answer, then why are you asking me the question in the first place, if you have ALREADY formed your own answer?"
Please no flames from other DHs on this website....everyone, man and women, aren't themselves when they are sick and one does try to be patient and understanding of it.

BERMUDA! My DH does degenerate to a single digit age when sick. I am both n a nurse practitioner and a physician assistant. I always say, after he asks my advice medically, "Buy me books, send me to Stanford Freaking Medical School, ask me for advice, then either argue or ignore it!"

He has unusual asthma, terrible asthma triggered by pollen and by drinking cold fluids "well, except, he claims, for beer or iced gin". Two days ago, he was wheezing and asked me for my opinion. For the FIRST TIME IN 40 YEARS, he took my advice and used both his rescue inhaler, followed by his cortisone inhaler. Immediate relief. Did the same later and then every 4 hours and voila! All gone!

Darn men...I n would be very sad if anything ever happened to him, but men can be so much like stubborn toddlers. So happy that I can cross stitch. It relaxes me...

Su, good to have you back. Glad that you and your DH are recovered. Were you hospitalized? Pneumonia is serious stuff.

My DH does not complain verbally but his body language and looks are worse. Every time he has to cough or sneeze he looks at me to make sure that I've noticed. Of course he is unable to do the most basic things for himself. I, on the other hand, have to take care of myself no matter how miserable I feel. He claims that he checks on me but every time he does I am asleep strangely enough. Oh well. As my friend says, "thank God that you have to do for him and he doesn't have to do for you"! It's uplifting words such as these that I use to make it through the difficult times! LOL

Stay well, Su, and hang in there.

No hospital, TEX...he positively refused although we both had relapsing fevers. We missed our 4th anniversary as we were too sick to go anywhere and I swear it was our youngest (38) daughter's boyfriend that gave the flu to us over the holidays as incubation time was about right.

No more fevers, but we both are still exhausted. If you want to know how strong women are, get sick at the same ti mm e as your DH does! Not only do you get to wait on a rude 5 year old, but you get so sick you just beg to die! Not an episode to be replayed....
