Floss
I have never heard of Weeks Dye Works floss. Can this be converted to DMC colors?

It can, but it won't give you the same results. Each skein of hand-dyed thread has several shades of colour in it...DMC will give you a flatter, less interesting shading.

There is one conversion here:

Miss KItty is so right. I wasn't a fan of the overdyes either for two reasons, 1) many shed when being washed and 2) I didn't want more stuff sitting around. I am working on a little project now that only has one DMC color in it and I remarked to myself yet again how much I like the specialty flosses. Especially the more rustic patterns look so nice when stitched with them. I converted to DMC for a couple of projects that I gave away and they just didn't look the same.

You won't be sorry. It's worth the extra money unless they are give aways! LOL

Weeks Dye Works floss is fantastic.! Unlike other hand dyed or over dyed floss that claims to be colorfast, WDW truly is colorfast. It does not bleed onto your fabric when washed in cool or tepid water. It does cut prep time because they do not tell you it is colorfast but then demand on the label that you must rinse and re-rinse ad nauseam in hot water until it stops bleeding, as some do, nor are you required to wash it before you begin,. This saves an entire day of prep time. I hate losing stitching time. If someone tells you that it is colorfast it should be so! I think others' claims are dishonest.

After having read these comments on the different over-dyed floss, and with Week's floss being colorfast, has anyone ever heard of a conversion chart for converting the Sampler threads (which I believe do 'bleed') to the Week's floss colors. I notice some patterns I have use a lot of the Sampler threads....
