Need to "unstick" a stiched piece
In the mid 80's, I cross stitched a beautiful blackwork piece and mounted it on one of those sticky boards. Although framed, I recently noticed that it had developed some brown spots and I wanted to clean it. I can't get it off of the sticky board. The paper is stuck to the fabric. Any ideas for removing this without damaging the stitching?

Goo Gone is oily. Maybe try soaking it first, or buy some of that Retro Clean that Keepsake Needlearts sells.

Southern Sticher,
Please post back to this chat board what the results are for ANY of the products that have been suggested
By the other stitchers. My question is: We're you able to remove any of the cardboard material at all and
Now have only the adhesive sticking to the back of fabric ??

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try this weekend and see what happens.
