Pattern DIfficulty
Hi,

I have not cross stitched for a long while. Would this be a good pattern to start with?

Very cute.

I avoid half-stitches like the plague. They are not fun.

Dimensions, the company that makes this kit, is not a popular choice on this chat because many stitchers have been shorted necessary floss.

I would look for something similar that is full stitches only.

Thanks so much!

Any brand and pattern suggestions?

If you really have your heart set on this one I would toss the floss and purchase your own. Just take your chart which should contain your symbols and floss list . Go to your local craft store and purchase your own floss. It might be a little more expensive this way but at least you know that you have enough
Floss to get through your project.

I would choose one of the LizzieKate patterns. Use the DMC floss list and the fabric suggestions on this site found as a supply list on the product page. Her patterns are bright and fast and cute....some come with charms.

They are easy, too.

There are lots of other patterns at this site that are easy and quick...pick one with colors and objects that speak to you. Have fun! The only rule you have to follow! :)

If you have no supplies at all, Get tapestry needles, fray check or tape for the edges of your fabric.

I LOVE THE COLORS

If you really like this, I think it would be ok. Half cross stitches are ok for beginners. Quarter stitches are for the birds. I like the colors...so cheerful!

Is that a stitched bee or a little button. The latter would be very cute.

Is that a ladybug on the edge of the middle flowerpot? This pattern would be great for adding the button decorations!

Bermuda -- I love embellishing. I'm going to start watching the button section in the craft stores.

I know what you mean. I'm always looking for some button decorations for the Little House Needleworks ornaments cross stitch patterns. Love the decorations because the grandkids love to touch the little candy canes or stars, etc.
They can be pricey. I think it is the Just Another Button company that has a lot of different ones.
