That blue thing by my left arm is my iPhone 5 to give you some perspective!
So, I've decided to take the pressure off myself and not attempt to finish it by Christmas! She'll get when its finished!

That makes much better sense! I can't believe that your making yourself nuts would allow her to enjoy it any more! :) I can't see any gridding....have you started?

Thanks Barb!! And in the early stages of this piece, I will be stitching it right in front of her!! Lol!
Vcess: in this pic, yes I have the vertical line done, but the filament is so fine that at this distance you can't see it!

I am so excited for you- a fresh piece of cloth, new filament, sides all taped. All the so so stuff is almost done. And the fun begins!

lpnbarnes, You and I have the same taste in lounge chair colors! That is one big piece of fabric...what type of frame are you going to use?...hoop? Q-Snaps? You going to start in the center or upper corner??

Bermuda: I'm going to put it on a scroll rod for stitching. When finished I will frame it. This is a VERY VERY VERY tedious piece, 16 pages!!So I plan to start in the upper left corner. Many many MANY single, individual color stitches!! AND the ENTIRE piece is stitched!! It will take me a very LONG time to complete!!

Wow, that is a big piece of material! The gridding should keep you from going bonkers, when you finally get it all lined out. That's the worst part, but worth it, I think. I'm looking forward to when you post the completed picture. But don't rush, take your time, and enjoy! Adele

That is a big piece of fabric. Don't know what the size of your piece of fabric is but looks like about the size of the one that I am doing a John Wayne project for my son. Like you said he will get it when I get it done. I do work on it when he is here. It is not a surprise because he picked it out.
Good luck and enjoy doing it. Just think how happy you will be when you have finished it, and she loves it.

I am ready to start a new project- baby announcement. I am going to stitch as much of it as possible as recommended a few months ago and finish it after the baby is born. I have decided that this would probably be a good project to use the guide lines. Can you tell me if it was easy to work with? In the past when I have wanted lines I used reg. thread and had issues getting the thread pulled out.

Xstitcher, there are no issues removing the gridding guide line...removes smoothly with a slight tug. :) I am re-using the line saved from a medium-size project...just to see if I could. I could. :)
