So much to be excited about- Woooo Hooooo!
Many of you know I am preparing for my first grandbaby in Aug. I am quite excited.
I was divorced months ago and the house was sold. Mom invited me to stay with her so i could save money and look for a house... 9 months later..... I have found a house/condo. (told Mom she gave birth to me twice, God love her!) The contract was accepted yesterday. It is perfect. There is space for a craft room. lots of storage for my stash. it is on a small court where grandchildren will be able to ride trikes around an island and drive way. A great counter in the kitchen to make and decorate Christmas cookies (with little hands to help) Plenty of room for a day crib.... and near a DQ. I love Dilly Bars.

This grandma has finally a place to live. I will unpack my sofa that I sit on to stitch baby things and make a new life. Can't wait. unless something changes, And I do know how things change without notice, I will get the keys June 15. Yipee!

xstitcher, I am so happy for you!! Sounds like lots of good things are "coming your way". I especially like the part about the small court where they can ride trikes...that's great. I have two granddaughters, who when they were small, were not allowed to ride on their street for more than one reason. They used to ask me about my childhood and were amazed that I not only rode my bike wherever I wanted...I actually rode in a 250 acre city park! We'll be waiting to hear all about this little person that is about ready to "come into the world"!!

It's so nice to hear all of your good news. I hope you enjoy your new home which sounds like it is perfect for you and has all the perks and everything you need to enjoy being a grandma. Best wishes.

Congratulations x-stitcher!
Just think! A new home, a new grandbaby coming! Enough storage for your stash. AND ALL THE DECORATING YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR WALLS!!!! YESSSSSSSSS!!!
How about a fractual project to put up on your walls???
How about a door mat for your front door that says, "Hi! I'm Mat!"
All kinds of decorating to think about......

Just bought a large tree picture (24 x 36 frameless) very colorful. I am going to have friends and family sign it with a fine sharpee as they visit. I want it filled with all my family and chosen family (friends). There were a lot of special people in my life that have supported me in words and deed. I am going to hang it in the living room where I can appreciate it everyday.

Sometimes I think "it takes a village to raise a child" should be worded differently- to express the joy and support we all get from each other.

for family and friends it would read....

Here at ECS chat board it would be read....

As in the song sung (I think) by Dionne Warwick.... "that's what friends are for"

Bermuda I like the front mat idea! I once did a xstitch mat for friends that had a quarter moon on it. I used one of those open weaved mats and strips of cloth (thread), taped the end (needle), and stitched. It turned out darling. I could do the same thing with MAT with a little bit of planning.
