Thanks

I think the linen raises the bar. I have not worked on linen (over 2threads). Though I have stitched for years, I do it for fun. I use aida cloth b/c the grid is visable and my eyes are more comfortable. I think a beginner would do ok on aida cloth.

Good question. I would say stitching the pattern on linen would make it intermediate level. It looks like basic cross stitch -- no half or quarter stitches. Not too many colors. I really like this piece and it's companion patterns. I would love to do it on 14 ct aida. If you are really a beginner you can omit the little squares around the background. Do it on a bold color aida.

What a great idea. Maybe I will make a group of throw pillows as a wedding gift for my son and fiancé.

Never mind, I forgot about the dog.

xtitcher -- you gave your answer while I was researching the other pieces. We seem to think alike. Simple is good.

Thank you for your great comments. I think I will start with 14ct aida. If all goes well I might try a different cloth and change the color scheme. I like the pillow idea!

I did not realize how small this design is. It is really the perfect size for a first project. If you want to make a pillow make sure you use a piece of fabric that is large enough. At this moment, this series is going to be at the top of my list next time I buy a pattern.

I went to their website. This flower is one of a group of 12. They had them all sewn together for a wall hanging. It was very cute. Some are different sizes. Would love to do the whole series but even at the sale price that total is way more than I would like to pay for a pattern.

I agree, simple is good. It would make a great pillow, add a little cording around the edge. Love it.

I was in a local resale shop today. Looking for some things I may need or want... found 2 darling side chairs at a place called Second Sitting. The seats were done in bight floral needlepoint. Thought twice. Wasn't really on my list of needs and they were shorter than I would have liked. But so pretty. I think I am going to try needle point. Maybe a pillow. I can always use pillows.

Pillows are so expensive and I can't figure out why... going to make pillows, floral, maybe cross stitch, maybe needlepoint.
