Fabric
I have read the instructions regarding dyeing instructions and I am afraid to try this. I have not ordered fabric yet. Can you suggest another color fabric instead of the color the pattern calls for. For example the pale green shown in the picture to my right. Thank you so much,

Hello! The fabric that is recommended for this is 32 count cobblestone linen. I went to the 1-2-3 stitch website and searched for this linen. There are different sizes available, however, the description is coming up as "dark" cobblestone linen. I suspect that this linen is "darker" than it appears in this picture. If you don't care for that color (and they WILL give you a close up of it!), you could literally pick any of the linens as long as you pick a color that will make the colors of their dresses stand out. I did check the reviews for this design and one person gave it five stars saying it is "very nice and colorful" so I am assuming she used the linen recommended. Hope this helps you! I have ordered many fabrics from 1-2-3 stitch and the quality of all of my orders has been excellent.

I have done firefly fairies. I was able to find the cobbleston linen they suggested. My girlfriend did the same one, but she omitted they whiting out part. It looks way better if you try the instructions to white out part of the fabric as it looks on the design. The instructions to do this were pretty simple. Good luck.

Where did you find the fabric, I found the dark but it seems to dark. Did you use the dark? Thank you so much for replying.

I live in Canada and there used to be a wonderful cross stitch fabric shop here called the sampler. They also used to do mail orders but they have gone out of business. Have you tried looking at Charlescraft. I know they used to carry a wide range of coloured fabric. You could even go with tea dyed linen. That would look good as well.

Happy Stitching

Hi everyone just popped by to visit and enjoying this site I am new here to and am enjoying reading all of the great posts. I stitched this lovely pattern to one of the first lavender and lace patterns that I stitched the fabric colour that I used was silvery moon but did not bleach mine the way instructions explained. I think either way this pattern would definately look beautiful I am so happy with the way mine turned out it is hanging on our bedroom wall love it so much reminds me of the little fairies in sleeping beauty. Love lavender and lace patterns they are amazing and just absolutely love the way she designed her patterns such a wonderful way to relax.

I too love Lavender and Lace patterns and I've done 10 or 11 ( I have grand kids and you don't do something for just one of them, in fact I now have 7 great grand kids and I haven't even started for them yet) I wanted to do this pattern, but I didn't like the idea of bleaching, it would weaken the fabric a bit. Why couldn't you substitute beads, Kreinek thread and/or the new jewel threads, they would add sparkle. The pattern 'has alot going on. I want to try this if I can ever get to it. I also like Mirabilia patterns and I am building a large stash. There just aren't enough hours in the day.

I wish there was more time in a day to so much to stitch so little time but loving the time that I do stitch. The idea of using beads and sparkly threads really great I think this would be such a good idea to. I was afraid of dying the cloth to as wondered as well if the bleach would harm the linen so this is why I did not use this method the results look pretty nice but I was not comfortable doing it. I like the result of leaving the cloth as it is looks nice this way to but the addition of sparkly threads sound like a nice idea to . Such a beautiful hobby hope everyone has a chance to enjoy their stitching this weekend. Happy stitching love this lovely past time.

I recently bought a piece of dark cobblestone and it wasn't very dark, I was a bit disappointed.

Stitchers! We have a visitor from Pennsylvania who has never been to Cape May. She will be here this week as her husband has business here. So.....we are leaving in about 10 minutes. She is an artist who does both water color & oils. Cape May will be the perfect place for her!!

As if I need one more thing to do......I am bringing the Lavender & Lace pattern for Marilyn's "Fairy Grandmother" design. I will buy the fabric, thread and beads today. Should be a great day here....tomorrow 40% chance of rain....that increases for Thursday and Friday. Hope you are all well and have a wonderful week!! Carol
