CROSS STITCH BIBLE
I just have to start a new thread on this.

VCESS -- I have frequently written that there are no rules in cross stitch. Stitch on the fabric you like, substitute floss whenever you want.

You wrote that the CROSS STITCH BIBLE says that you can do that. So that must mean it is absolutely true.

Wonder if there is a list of ten commandments to follow!!! It would make an interesting thread. GROAN -- I did not intend to make a pun (get it, thread/floss)

COMMANDMENT # 1 -- Thou shalt never follow the suggested supplies list 100%.

Stitchers -- add your thoughts!

#7 Thou shalt be tolerant of other's practices....even though we know they're goofy. :)

Nancy, just for the record, I was only quoting the book because it reflected the same attitude as we've seen here....I thought it a hoot. Printed books with a bunch of rules aren't usually so gracious with the creative spirit....but the pictures are pretty. :)

#9 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's cross stitch pattern so much that thou weakens to the temptation of asking thy neighbor to make thee many copies to hand out to thy friends and family creating an atmosphere of putting cross-stitch websites into bankruptcy.

VCESS -- I understood why you quoted the book. It made me giggle. Have been trying to remember the tune and the rest of the words to the song THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO all day.

BERMUDA -- AMEN to that
