24 Count
I found a pattern I would like to stitch.. see the following"

Fabric: 24 Count Aida
Grid Size: 432W x 265H
Design Area: 17.75" x 8.79" (426 x 211 stitches)

How on earth could you stitch on fabric so small? Also, how would you stitch it? With a hoop or with a wood frame? It just seems so large... I have only stitched on 14 count and it is even sometimes hard to use the wood frame on large patterns.

Thanks.. any suggestions would be helpful. I want to create a kit for this pattern for my daughter-in-law.

Probably a typo...

But you are going to have to have the pattern title to get any useful information. :)

Hi Lisa,
I agree, if you can get the title of this pattern AND/ OR a picture of it OR find out the title AND the name of the artist it would help us to help you.

As for answering your question on how a person can stitch on fabric with squares so small ie. 24 count
Many of us stitchers, including myself, use a magnifier with a light that increases the size of the fabric. I look through the magnifying lens -which has lights around it- and it enlarges the fabric so I can see the squares. My question is, does your daughter-in-law have a lighted magnifier? You might want to ask her.
I personally can do 14 count with just my glasses and don't need magnification (my cataracts aren/t that bad yet) BUT I DO need magnification to do 25-count, 28-count (which I normally work on) or higher fabric counts.
Your daughter-in-law will certainly enjoy doing the "kit" you are putting together for her as a gift but I (being the way I am) I would strike up a conversation with her about cross stitching just to see if she has the magnification she needs to do the project or do you already know if she has a magnifier or not?

As for hoops and stretcher bars, every stitcher has a personal preference. For example, Syagel who is one of the stitchers on this chat, consistently uses her one hoop for cross stitching. I use plastic hoops but like to use "Q-Snaps" for my larger projects. Some stitchers prefer using wooden stretcher bars. It's all about a stitcher's preference.
Hope this helps and you can get the information regarding the cross stitch chart you found. :)

My GUESS would be that it's a stitch over 2.....I've noticed that many patterns on here have that instruction when higher count fabrics are recommended. Hope that helps!!
