I do't drive that is one thing I had got the computer for so I can get to buy anything from the net that I need. I even buy foods sometimes during the winter by the computer and they bring it home to me in a day or so.

PS. you can go on ebay. com and you find hoops different size that suit your needs

There are new things to hold fabric called qsnaps. I am an old stitcher who was trained to use hoops. Eventually, I started out with one 8"x8" qsnap, and loved it! Easy to tighten and they come in a variety of sizes. I finally bought all sizes and can make many different sizes in squares and rectangles by combining them. If the clamps that you rotate seem loose, they can be tightened with hot water or by a ruj through the dishwasher, but no dry cycle,.since they ate plastic. I have had mine for over a year and they remain tight. Pick a size and try them! I will never go back to a hoop...they all loosen.

I have used a rubbery tape on hoops that attaches to the outer part of the inside ring and prevemts slipping. It helps a lot, but has to.be redone frequently. I bought it at either Herrschners.com
or at 123stitch.com. Look for it under accessories. You can find the qsnaps by entering qsnaps in the dearch place on each site.

By the way, I also bought "grime guards" for the qsnaps. I know 123stitch.com carries those. They keep your material clean and you can tuck excess fabric in them, if you have ever stitched through the excess, like this dummy.

I agree with Sue. Try the Q-Snaps and see what you think. I also use Q-Snaps, especially on my larger projects. Like Sue, I have enough of them to create different sizes for different projects. Another good thing about Q-Snaps, is they leave a lot less of a hoop print when you move or remove your material from them.

If you wrap the inner hoop of your embroidery hoops with twill tape or even yarn..it will help prevent your fabric from slipping.

I order stuff from Herrschners all the time. I'm sure they have a variety of hoops in a lot of different sizes. I find that if you wrap the bottom hoop in yarn, twill tape or even just a tight weave cotton fabric strip, they are less likely to loosen.
