Need help
Hi, I'm new to the site, and new to cross stitching. I ordered the "Bedtime Girl Birth Record (Tobin-T21709), and wanted to get started right away but to my dismay the pattern doesn't seem to be what I expected. I thought it was an iron on pattern. When I tried to iron it on it does not transfer. Am I doing something wrong or is these non transferable patterns?
Anyone please advice.

All of the patterns are counted cross stitch or stamped cross stitch. Did you get it here?

Francis, did you get the pattern from ECS? If you did, call them at 8008008517. They are on Eastern time, so I suggest you call them asap. Pam

I looked for this pattern on ECS. It is a counted cross stitch kit. Did you get threads with it? It is on the ECS web and is the title Bedtime Girl Birth Record by Tobin. This is a chat room that is why I suggested calling the company directly. I'm sorry you are having trouble.

Pam, ECS sent her what she ordered. Why would you consider this an ECS problem?

Yes, I ordered it from ECS. The order is as follow: N-SKU 371299 PID:65601 (Tobin -T21709 - 021465217093 - red). I've been reading the replies to my questions. I apologize for any problems or, misunderstandings I maybe caused as I said in my initial email I am new to the site and this chat. I now realize I ordered the wrong item, I did not know the difference between counted/stamped. Thanks Pamela, for your prompt response and advice and to everyone else for your comments.

Hello Francisb1956,

This product you purchased is a counted cross stitch kit. So you have to stitch the design onto the fabric by counting the squares on the chart and then on the fabric. We do not have any iron on products here on our website. We offer counted cross stitching and stamped but our selection is limited on the stamped items. I apologize for the any confusion for this product but our description for it doesn't state anything about iron-on. You are more than welcome to contact us if you would like to return the item and you can contact us either by phone or email to start the return process. If you have any questions regarding our return process, please click on the Customer Care tab at the top of the page and then down to Return Policy. Hope this information helps. Thanks!

Pam, I asked you a simple question. It was not a rude question. I have never been intentionally rude to you. I don't know why you are so defensive about any comment made to you. I'm sorry if a simple question offended you. The items in this chat room are just as much my business as yours.

Hi Francis,
If you are new to COUNTED cross stitching, I would encourage you to try it. It is a wonderful hobby! Since you are new to it, I would suggest you begin with a “beginner’s”
Kit. The Kit will give you everything you need except for an embroidery hoop you can purchase here. Everything Cross Stitch has beginner kits under ‘Products’ heading that you see under the Everything CrossStitch title above.
I would recommend that you purchase a kit with only 3-5
Floss colors till you get comfortable with it. Basically you will have a pattern with symbols on it and there will be a
Floss ‘color key’ with the kit that shows you which symbol represents a certain floss color. Many of us stitchers started out this way and if you can make an X with your floss then you can learn Counted cross stitch. The written instructions that come with the kits have instructions on how to do counted cross stitch , so follow the directions and if you get confused or have a question, don’t be afraid to come on this ‘chat’ and ask. There are lot of experienced cross stitchers on this ‘chat’ that can help you. there is no such thing as a silly or stupid question, just a question that needs to be asked! 😀
