My Cross Stitch Experience
I live in Alaska yet received this pattern in less than a week! i chose to stitch this on M.C.G. Textiles's "Starlight," a polyester/metallic fabric. The fabric was a little confusing as to which side to actually start stitching on, but once I decided & started, it looked as if it was made to be the fabric of choice! It's a 14ct. & I'm moving along nicely. It is destined for my life-time best friend's youngest daughter who married a week before Christmas. I would recommend this pattern for anyone who has a Winter wedding or it would be wonderful for a Silver Anniversary! You won't be disappointed. 😻

What a beautiful pattern!!! It almost makes me want to take the plunge, so to speak, just so I could make one of these for myself! :)

Great! I have this pattern to do, because DH and I wed in January (brrrr...what were we thinking). I like the design and am thinking of using a silvery white fabric (the name for that escapes my old brain at night).

I have been to Alaska and loved it! Skiing on Mount Aleyeska was exciting. My friend gave me a sled dog ride, as he lived near there. It was scary but thrilling to be going so fast so close to the snow. As a skier, I never got to be that close. Really glad I brought my ice skis! Got to see a reindeer with sled tied to a parking meter in downtown Anchorage, with the meter running. There was a cold snap and I arrived in Anchorage at 40° below zero! My face was totally numb. I really enjoyed the beauity of the state.

I wish everyone could come visit Alaska at least once in their lives, although you may end up like me & move there! The southeastern section where I live is about one thousand miles south of Anchorage, with almost that many miles north of Anchorage!! You just cannot imagine how vast this state is. Where I live is actually a temperate fain forest where there seldom is snow & we measure the rain in feet. We had over 145 inches of rain this past year & it was not close to a record( over 12 FEET).
Being as rainy as it is, I get lots of time to stitch, which I love! The only downside for me is finding fun patterns, fabric & threads...hurray for my tablet! Thanks to everyone who took the time to respond to my message & if you ever get a chance to take a cruise or trip to Ketchikan, let me know:I'm a great guide!😃

I just recently (that is, in the past two days) took to raving about my home state of Michigan, and how it's the only place I ever have and ever •will• truly call home. And yet, you Alaskans are probably the only Americans I envy in regards to the natural beauty of your state!! I'd give anything to be stuck indoors hibernating for three quarters of the year, stitching and reading and stoking the fire whilst draped in a cloak of bear and lynx. :P Not that I see all Alaskans that way, it's just how I would have to behave were I a true Northman.
