is this a picture turned into a cross stitch or is it a true cross stitch pattern
Just wondering if this is a picture that is put on the software and made into a cross stitch, or is this a true cross stitch pattern?

Hello! This is a cross stitch pattern. It is quite a beautiful picture. Haven't seen this one! If you read the description closely you will see that it uses 63 DMC colors. 14 count white aida is recommended as far as what fabric to use. This pattern is by Artecy. I have made several, and have several to make. Their patterns are printed on 8 1/2 x 11" pages and very easy to read. I encourage you to try this!!

I question this, as I do not see any back stitching? Is there any way to view the pattern before purchase?

There is no way to really see the pattern first. If you click on the picture itself where your "post" is...it will bring up the page showing the supply list. Click on the word "description". The information from Artecy says it is full cross stitches only and that the design is printed in black and white. So...I am assuming there probably isn't backstitching. The Artecy Designer monitors this web site. Keep checking in here...if she sees your question....she will post a response to you! Best of luck!

I have lived around mountains and herds of elk. Not one had any backstitching on them. Artecy makes beautiful patterns.

Sunshine, I think you are a very lucky person. This is a spectacular view!!

jerseycrafter, I am indeed a very lucky person. I live in Washington State with snow covered mountains year 'round, herds of Roosevelt elk and herds of black-tailed deer. You could not pay me enough to live on the east coast or in a big city.

To answer your question-yes it is a computer generated pattern. To my knowledge Artecy does not stitch their designs into models, but please correct me if I'm wrong Trina.

obviously real scenes don't have backstitching, however back stitching really brings out the work. If you have ever done a DMC golden collection kit, you would know what I mean. It really6 makes the picture POP out at you

There have been posters that found these pictures without backstitching "flat". Ain't it grand that you can do your own backstitching, if you care too. I don't think I've ever seen a project that was worse for backstitching. :) I am one of the few on here that doesn't mind backstitching...I actually use a running stitch. But these new designs are entities unto themselves...I think I would be a little more subtle than using black.

the Charles white pattern I did from artcy did't have any back stitching in it a the picture just pops. I've had several people ask if I painted it! they are just amazed that its stitched. lol they always say I wouldn't have the patience to so that. there lose only an other stitcher understand the pleasure and calm you get stitching.
