murillome -- Just wondering what country you will be visiting from. ECS ships to other foreign countries. Shipping to Canada can be expensive. I sent a card to my aunt who lives in Windsor, Ontario. It costs $1.20 -- more than double than if she lived in Detroit. Which reminds me --- at the border between Detroit and Windsor -- Canada is south of the United States.

If you want you can order your supplies now and have them shipped to the address you will be staying at in Canada. Then you will have the package waiting for you when you arrive.

Have a safe journey

Thanks for the input! I recently married a Brit and spend time between Canada and England. I usually pick up US orders in MN , but made the mistake of having a recent clothing order posted to England and ended up paying UK sales tax plus duty- ridiculous amount! That is why I will wait til I am in Canada to order my supplies!

I understand about having to pay the duty. Having to pay UK sales tax hardly seems fair. A few years ago my sister and I went to Ontario. She bought some stuff and the sales tax seemed pretty high. A percentage over a certain amount would have been refundable, if she had made a claim. She then had to pay a duty when we crossed back over to the States. All I bought was an ice cream cone.

NANCYE G, do you live in Michigan, in particular, the Detroit Metro area?

Sherry -- I am originally from Detroit. Then the northwest -- Oak Park and Farmington Hills. Moved to Phoenix in 1997 and St Louis in 2002. My sister is in Ann Arbor. Also, a few relatives in Windsor.

NANCYE G, I'm originally from the Pacific Northwest, raised my family in the San Francisco Bay area & came to Michigan 18 years ago. I live in Pleasant Ridge, a small community between Royal Oak & Ferndale and I work in Auburn Hills. We've had very little winter but snow is coming later today. Yeah!!!

Sherry -- I know where Pleasant Ridge is. Not a lot of people know about it. I can picture myself driving down Ten Mile Road, making a right hand turn onto Woodward, going a very short distance and making another right hands turn. You are very close to the Detroit Zoo, which isn't in the city of Detroit but Royal Oak.

Did a job change take you to Michigan?
