Backstitching
If this is just a reprint of a photo, has there been any work on adding backstitching to the pattern to add texture?

I am wondering if anyone has actually finished this pattern and what the finished product looked like?

From what I see, these types use color contrasts and blends for texture. But you could add definition and highlight to any of them. I added a little definition to my STARRY NIGHT, but removed it because, though it wasn't much, it was too much... :)

It's typical that these cover-all pieces do not use backstitching, instead they get the fine details by using a greater number of floss colors. Notice that this pattern has 41 or 42 colors. After all, we see many beautiful things in our world and there is no backstitching : )

Thanks everyone. I've done a lot of cross stitching, including large patterns, but most have been Dimensions patterns, which use back stitching. I'm currently working on a Candamar design that is full sheet alot like this one. I'm praying it looks nice because it's a ton of work! I have read positive and negative reviews of this type of work, but perhaps it's just a matter of preference.

This pattern is for a friend of mine and it's just so perfect, I couldn't resist. It's exactly what we were looking for

gjggraves1: thank you for your helpful comment... I have a couple of pictures that I want to convert to cross stitch and your tip will be very useful.
