this is a gift
hello,
I'm buying this as a gift to my mother.
My question is:
does this kit contain all she will need to make it? ie:
fabrick, needles, yarn?
I dont know exactly what I'm buying here.
I'm not the expert and my mother isn't exactly available for questions.
thank you,
N

Yes, all kits contain the fabric, the embroidery floss, the pattern and usually a needle. She would perhaps need an extra needle or two, as we all drop them. For this fabric, we use a 24 tapestry needle, found on this site under "cross stitch supplies" in the box to the left on each page.

I like doing silhouette patterns such as this. Hope your mom enjoys the gift!

I am not an ECS employee, just a stitcher in this chat.

I'm not wearing my glasses but is this done in 1/2 stitch. It's beautiful but I hope that nobody buys it for me! LOL

Thank you both for your kind replies.
Texas Sticher I have no idea what 1/2 stitching even means hahaha
I still haven't made the purchase, do you think 1/2 stitching is too much????
I want to make my Mami a nice one that she'd love to stich 😁
Thank you for your input 😊

Nina, half stitch is easy instead of doing the cover stitch you only have to make one stitch. I was thinking more of the complexity in terms of color and size. The entire fabric seems to be covered and stitches. I don't know how experienced your mom is and if this is the type of pattern she enjoys doing. I like working with a variety of colors - not where every stitch is a different color but not almost monochromatic. It's sort of like "will I ever finish with this color". Everybody is different and you know what your mom likes. So the decision has to be made by you. Could you give her a gift card or envelope with money and let her pick her own pattern?

the problem is my mom doesn't speak a word of english and she doesn't know exactly how to explain this to me. So on occasion I go on line and buy what I think she'd like. So far she's like everything I bought for her to make and has made. I just want to get better at getting her exactly what she wants and is hard to get that from her I'm trying to learn through the comments on here, yours have been of much help and will continue to be should you have any more :)
THANKS A MILLION

I understand, Nina. My daughter knows me well and she also strikes out from time to time. Good luck.
