Evenweave
Is it possible to work this on 14 count Aida instead of eve weave. My eyes aren't what they used to be.

Hi,
According to the information, the stitch count for this pattern is 315 wide x 390 high. This completed pattern will be quite large, 22 1/2. Inches wide by 27 3/4 inches high when done 'over one' on 14 count fabric.
On 16 count fabric ' over one' the completed pattern would be 19 3/4" wide by 21 1/2 inches tall.
On 18- count, ' over one' it would be 17 1/2" wide by 21 3/4" tall.

I understand about your failing eyesight because I have bad eyesight as well with cataracts, so I use a magnifier to enlarge what I am seeing. Some stitchers use reading glasses that have different lense strength that are available at stores. There is also an magnifier called 'mag-eyes" that you wear to help magnify what you are seeing. Also, call your optometrist to make sure it is ok to use magnification and if ok, ask him/ her about these magnifiers I saw at my optometrist's office last year that you just slip on over your glasses. Hope this helps. :)
I am not an employee of ECS, but one of the stitchers that saw your chat.

I love this project but would probably "pass to the great beyond" before I got it done. I did find it in a very large size as a 1000 piece puzzle so I took the easy way out. Bought the puzzle, decoupaged it and framed to hang in my house. It is very beautiful and only drove me half crazy putting it together. Besides cross stitching and quilting I am a "puzzle junkie". I do mostly 1000 and above piece pictures. Keeps my brain active and I am losing it fast enough as I get older. LOL

Hi guys,
Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it.

Bermuda, the size of the piece in the evenweave isn't much different (25.2x31.2) than the dimensions you quoted, so I'm going ahead with the Aida. Plus (and it's a big plus) the evenweave would cost over $40 and I got the Aida for $8. I'm on a fixed income.

Puzzles drive me nuts, Syagel. Besides, I have cats and a couple of dogs that think they are cats. Just thinking of puzzle pieces all over the place gives me a headache. LOL.

With this project, I am officially in SABLE mode. Even after weeding out all my unused and unusable yarn, I will die with projects untouched. And I'm loving it.

Phoeb

All my patterns can be worked on whatever stitch count you like - they are just full crosses, and no specialty stitches (not even backstitching).

It will, of course, make a difference to the finished piece. Like all art-to-stitch designs, they are designed so when you step back, your eyes take in the whole piece as a piece of art - you are not expected to see individual stitches - you are supposed to be able to see it as a whole.

What does this mean? It means that if you want to (or have to) stitch it on 14 count aida, there's nothing stopping you at all - but when you've finished it, you'll have to stand a little further away to get the full effect of the art :)

I wondered why the sales of this one had jumped in January, I think it must be something to do with being on the front page of the site - I hope you are all enjoying stitching the chart :)
