lakeside cabin
is your lakeside cabin full x stitch only. I have tried them and they are extremely time consuming and take forever to complete. You need to stitch one color at a time and must constantly have to change thread

This kit is a project that is fully cross stitched on the entire project. Are you saying that you don't like to do projects that are completely cross stitched? I enjoy the larger projects. I just finished one that had 120,000 stitches. Took quite a while but it was worth it. If you want a project that is less time consuming there are several for sale here at ECS.

I also do small little projects at the same time to break up the monotony of my larger projects. I usually have 3 or 4 going on at the same time. The large pattern that I am working on now is the one with the dogs playing poker. My grandmother had a copy of that hanging in her house when I was small (a long time ago).

I'm working on a project that is (only) 30 colors, so I have 30 needles...way better than getting frustrated, constantly changing the thread.

I adore this pattern. When I work on big projects like this, I often have a small, simple one going too. That way I can make a what seems a little progress on the big one and see more results on the little one. It works for me.

This is a beautiful pattern! Love the deer and the colors just everything so serene and relazing. Reminds me of my parent's house up in the Pocono Mtns.

Is this a stamped cross stitch? I do not mind a full picture, but I do not like counted cross stitch. I always mess it up and it is never even.

no, Deanna. It looks like it's counted, not stamped (based upon the category it's listed in).

That is indeed a lovely pattern, and would be worth the time invested in it. That's a personal opinion, and I don't feel that way about all projects, but this one grabbed me. Too bad it's a kit - but this one might be worth making an exception for in my "no kits" mantra!
