Floss
Since this is a kit that comes with the floss, does anyone know if it is DMC floss or a no-name brand? If not, does it have a DMC conversion list? I also plan to stitch it on 14 count, but I have a fabric size calculator app! Thank you.

It's a Dimensions kit and most likely won't have DMC thread but if you go online there is a conversion chart from Dimensions threads to DMC.

Dimensions kits have their own brand of floss which I don't think is very good. Whenever I have gotten a Dimensions kit I convert it over to my DMC floss numbers to use. If you go to Cyberstitchers.com you will find a chart to convert Dimensions floss to DMC. Hope this helps.

Very cute project.

After participating on this chat for a few years I would be reluctant to purchase a Dimensions kit. There have been lots of complaints about not having enough floss and the company's lack of customer service.

There appear to be more complaints about Dimension kits than all of the other companies put together. Of course, I don't know that for a fact -- it just seems like that to me.

I saw a posting on eBay a few a few years ago. She said that she was giving up her "kitting" job and had lots of large spools of floss. Maybe Dimensions outsources their kits and the people the contract to do the work have to pay for their own materials sale. That might account for some kits having plenty of floss and some being short. I DO NOT KNOW THIS FOR A FACT -- JUST A THEORY. Wish I had contacted her and asked the question.

Dimensions must be doing something right because they haven't gone out of business.

I won't be using their floss. I plan to use the DMC conversion chart and use DMC thread. The pattern is all I really want. Thank you all for your responses.

A few years ago when I first learned of Cyberstitchers.com I went to the website and made copies of all the conversion charts for the different types of floss conversions. I keep them in a 3-ring binder together so I can check there without going to the website each time. I also check back ever so often to see if there are any additions or changes. It has been very helpful.
