Finding center...
Hello my fearless stitchers!
So, I'm looking at this chart getting ready to, think about starting it and I noticed that there are no arrows to find the center of the chart.
I thought I remembered quite awhile back, there was a chat about this and there is a way to find the center.........?
Can anyone help me?
Please?

I can't think of any way but to count the chart, mark it, and to from there. Despite the common wisdom to start from the center, my stitching always looks better when I start on the lower, left-hand side. Others can disagree, but it's something to consider.

If this is a multi page chart, lay all the pages in their proper order so you can see the design (it is very important to make sure you have all the pages in the right order). Then starting from the left and going to the right, count the first group of boxes to the first solid line on your chart. After counting this first group of boxes up to the first solid line which is sometimes less than 10, most charts will have bold lines every 10 boxes. So count all the way across adding 10 for every bold line on the chart. At the last group of boxes on the far right edge after the last bold line, it too may have less than 10 boxes so just add that last number to your total and then divide it in half. Then count over horizontally again from the left side by the number you have and you should arrive at your horizontal center (you may want to mark a line at this spot with a pencil). Do the exact same thing vertically starting from the very top all the way down to the bottom and remember to divide your total in half again and count back up by the number you came up with and mark another small line at this spot with a pencil. After you find your 2 spots vertically and horizontally take your fingers in an imaginary straight line down your chart both horizontally and vertically, or use 2 straight edge rulers if that is easier for you, and the 2 lines should intersect at the center of your chart. I hope that makes sense.

The above is only necessary if you don't have the marked arrows or a stitch count included with your chart. If you already have the stitch count which is often information supplied with your chart, you can divide each of those numbers in half and just count over horizontally and vertically (just make sure you use the correct horizontal and vertical numbers for each direction) as described above making sure again that all your pages are in the correct order, mark your spots, and then using your fingers/straight edges to intersect the 2 lines.

THANK YOU lbcatlovr!! Center found! I had forgotten to divide stitch count by 2 and count!

I printed out your instructions as I have 2 multi page charts, no 3! I forgot the Fractal!
