Hi,
You might but a lot of craft stores have a limited amount of patterns compared to on-line stores such as Everythng CrossStitch.
If you are looking for easier charts, have you tried looking under the "Products" listed above , then tap on 'cross stitch patterns' which will have a 'beginners' heading to the right of the screen and/or checked out the kits. Hope this helps!
Oh, you might also want to check out small 'ornament' patterns by "Little House Needleworks"offered here. They are small patterns ( not kits, so you'd have to buy fabric, floss, needle and hoop) but they are fun, look nice and are great when making small decorative cross stitch items for
The holidays.
I'm not an employee of ECS but one of the stitchers that saw your chat. :)

Bermuda is absolutely correct, you will never find a selection like this website has...something over 10,000, I think was a number mentioned "somewhere". If the your being overwhelmed by all the choices, why not decide whether you want a kit (good choice for beginners) or a pattern that you buy pattern, fabric, needles, and floss separately.

They have a section for beginners...just do a search for " beginners" in the search box at the top of the page. Still not sure what would be a good choice? Why not call customer service and let them answer your questions. They are VERY helpful...😊

I agree with the other stitchers here, that this website has a lot more to offer than most of the local craft stores such as Joanne's, Michaels, and AC Moore. Depending on where you live, however, you might find stores that are dedicated to the art of counted cross stitch. I have one up the road from where I work and there is one at the place I frequent for summer vacation. If that's not the case and there isn't a little shop near you, the internet has a wealth of supplies, kits, and patterns. ECS which I highly recommend, Amazon, Etsy, 123 Cross stitch, and Stoney Creek are just a few that I know of but I am sure there are others.

This site is really top notch. Trying to find anything "in town" (and I live in St. Louis) is a challenge. The little stores that use to carry my supplies are gone or have very little selections. The box stores have smaller and smaller shelf space. I was in Walmart last night picking up some thread. The Charles Craft bibs, I stitch for friends becoming grandmas, were on clearance for $5. So, of course I picked up 4 (my friends and I are just marrying off our kids and becoming grandmas) I am sure I will need them in the next year or so. (Grandmas need something for their house too!)

Getting a kit is a good idea initially because all the floss you need for the project (usually) and supplies are immediately available. I also like looking for the "few colors" or silhouette on the websites. There are some intricate patterns that require very few color changes. I also save the patterns from the kits for other projects.

Realize you probably have a ton of "baby bib" patterns if you are making all those bibs. Do you have one called, "Bibs for Babies with Attitude" By Jeanette Crews designs?

Not to come off sounding like I'm doing a hard sell, but Check out the payment options under the "customer care" heading above. I still do personal checks and/or money orders at different cross stitch websites if I found a chart I like and save my pennies and quarters up.
