Almost every kit comes with the fabric to stitch, enough floss to stitch the design, one needle. You will need a pair of small but very sharp scissors to cut the floss.
Kristi from ECS should see this question and answer if she can. ECS certainly does not survive so it can cut open the kit to check which floss is in the kit.

I thought the same ive purchased the kits couple times, but i was like hang on it doesn't state whether or not it comes with the basics to complete. but thank you for replying and giving me some insight :)

This is the information we have for the kit that we get from our distributor:

Kit includes: 16 count Aida, DMC floss, needles, stitch diagrams and instructions.
