"Strength & Hope Jar Wrapper"
So I know this is probably a question for customer service, however, with such knowledgeable stitchers in our chit chat group, I thought I'd throw a question their way. I love this Strength and Hope Jar wrapper and think it will make a lovely gift for my mother in law who is a breast cancer survivor. The supplies say OCT for the fabric. I do not know what this is. Also it looks like scallops are cut around the top, left side and bottom so would it be stitched on perforated paper? I did order it. Once I receive it, I will look over the instructions which may better explain the fabric option but in the meantime any help would be most appreciated.

Hello,

I am not sure why the fabric was set to zero count (0 ct) on the page?! I have corrected it now though. This design is stitched on 14ct. White Vinyl Weave, which is a little thicker than the perforated paper. The leaflet will have all of the instructions on how to finish the wrapper and how to cut it out from the vinyl weave. Hope this helps :)

MY THOUGHTS. I am not trying to discourage you.

The description says that it is 172 x 59 stitches. That would make it 12" across which would be a rather large jar. I have found vinyl difficult to work with. Imaginating patterns are very cute but usually have A LOT of fractional stitches and backstitching.

I had my last chemo for breast cancer back in February. Today I went for my first haircut. The right side and back were longish. the left side is still bald. I could almost do one of those comb-overs that the old men do to cover their bald spots. For the record my hair used to be very thick, curly and salt and pepper. It is now thin, straight and light brown and grey.

It might be 12", but that is only a 3"-sided jar...with 4 sides...probably will have a space at the back, depending on how rounded the corners are. Round jar would have diameter of 3.82"...that's not huge. :)

Just a thought, you could stitch this on whatever fabric you like, putting a boarder all the way around it would solve the scallops issue. I have a jar wrap that’s fabric, it has three little “fingers” with Velcro on them to hold it. I’d post a picture, but I think it’s packed away with Christmas things

I stand (or sit) corrected) I just measured a quart jar and was surprised that it had about 13" circumference. I was very surprised. I like the idea of stitching on fabric and using Velcro to wrap it around the jar.
