Hi there. I enlarge the picture of the pattern and I had found they are cross stitches plus back stitches too. Have fun.

I have this apron to work for my daughter and I looked up the stitches. It takes cross stitch. the stem stitch, and back stitch and french knots. None of these are entailed. You should have fun stitching it. Directions for each stitch is included with the apron. Hope this helps.

Thank you both. I never did anything but cross-stitch, but just finished a crib quilt top that included a lot of the stem stitch. I found several YouTube videos that showed how to do it. I hope I can find one that demonstrates the French knot. I just got the quilt top back today from a quilter who inserted the cotton batting and added the fabric backing and it's just exciting for me to see because it represents an entire summer of work, mainly done at night till the early hours of a.m. while watching movies on TV. It has five huge jungle animals, each of them taking me at least three weeks to do. And that was just the cross-stitch, not including the outlines which required the stem stitch. Plus a 40 x 60 inch border of leaves, all stem stitch. I thought the baby, my great-great nephew, would be entering kindergarten before I finished it. Now that I'm done, I can't believe I miss not having an embroidery project, so I thought I'd try this one for the baby's grandmother. Thanks so much for your help.

The crib quilt sounds lovely! :) This stuff sure is habit-forming! :)
