Checking It Twice
I have three questions about this Artecy pattern and need help.
1. If I use 20 count Aida over 1, not two, will it affect the beautiful details of the project? I realize it will change the size of
the project.
2. Is scribbling on the list done in cross stitch or backstitch? The pattern description page states that the project is done
with full stitches, but I wanted to make sure:)
3. And now I have forgotten my third question. If I remember it, I'll post again.
Oh yay! I just remembered! How many pages of the chart?
Thank you.

A lesser count fabric doesn't really ruin the sharpness of detail...You just have to stand back further so you don't lose the overall effect...up close, anything can be blurry...

They won't lie to you about full stitches...

It is the total stitch count, not the number of pages of the pattern. The larger number of pages just means that the pattern has large enough symbols that are easier to read...Nancy will be so proud of me! :)

I am currently working on this pattern. I started on 14 count, but soon switched to 18 count and am very pleased with the total effect. I'm using 2 strands over 1. It does make the total dimensions smaller. There is no backstitching, only full stitches. There are 16 pages to this pattern, but after I got started, I realized the pages are very clear and easy to follow. Each page makes up an area about 4"x6", so they are not bad at all. Be sure to stitch some stitches from the next page creating a "fringed" edge so you don't end up with ridges between the pages. I think you will enjoy this pattern. It's still only one X at a time😊

Would love to see your works in progress. I too have this one in my stash. There are just too many I want to do at once!

MY ADVICE -- If you want to scale down the finished size of this pattern I would recommend using 18 count instead of 20 count. Stitch using two strands over one. MY REASON, YOU ASK! Using two strands enables you to use the loop method of fastening your first stitch. This pattern calls for frequent color changes. Stitching with only one strand means having to run the first few and the last few stitches under previous stitches; I would find using only one stitch, messy, tedious, frustrating and tedious.

YES VCESS -- I am pleased that at least one person has read my preaching about stitch count is more important than the number of pages.

Thank you all for the information. I was inquiring about the number of pages because the project I'm working on now is 25 pages and I'm on page 15 now, so I'll use the same strategy on this one:) Quite a while ago, I read Nancye G's sage advice concerning stitch count. Spot on!!
