This kit does contain floss, fabric and even a needle. The design is not stamped onto the fabric. If you prefer stamped projects, click on the "Products" word at the top of any page. Go down that list to "Stamped Projects". Many stitchers have switched to counted cross stitch, which is why there are so many patterns and kits in that area. If you order this kit or any other, you should order extra 24-26 sized needles, as we all manage to lose some. You can work with a hoop, a Q-Snap frame or a scroll frame. If you prefer, you can do it freehand. I think it's easier with the fabric stretched.
