I have only worked on two counted cross stitch patterns. Is this pattern suitable for a beginner? Thank you, Bessie

To me, if you are a beginning stitcher, I think i would try to do a couple of intermediate works before attempting this. It is so beautiful. It really is a personal decision . How do you feel as a stitcher regarding your skill level. I read the description and checked how many floss colors there were. However, it did say they were full stitches so you would not have to worry about fractional stitches. Putting myself back when I started, I just kept going through beginning projects and worked myself up to do more challenging projects. Again, it is just stitch by stitch so it is a personal decision. Good luck on what you decide. By the way, welcome to the chat room. There are many men and women stitchers here. They are great to give advice and tips. Not only do we talk about stitching but we "talk" and joke and support each other. Again, welcome and let us know what you decide. ECS is very helpful also and you can get all your supplies from them. I do not work for them but am just a stitcher on this web site. Good luck. Pam

I agree with Pamela. Did you notice how large this one is? Plus, more than 80 different flosses. ARTECY is probably my favorite designer. I have been stitching for 30 plus years. I have NEVER attempted one this size. She has many more even larger this. You will be changing flosses every few stitches. Pick one of Artecy's smaller projects. You will get the hang of frequent color changes. You will love the clarity of her symbols. Not hard but definitely not a pattern for the faint-hearted.

I agree with the other stitchers. When I look at a project and see that the "design" area is 14 inches x 17 inches, I actually get out a ruler and measure it out on my desk top. You should try it. It will be a "reality check" for you. If it were me, I would pick something very pretty like these flowers, just a smaller design. Best of luck to you!!

If color changes don't bother you...If multiple page patterns don't intimidate you...if you're ready to juggle massive piece of fabric...do it. If, on the other hand, you would rather "dip a toe in", why not pick a smallish pattern with lots of color changes...something that will give the experience and and an idea of what exactly you are " taking on". I just dove in...good thing it was very deep water and I had discovered chit chat as a life preserver. We won't let you go far wrong...the water will be fine, no matter your decision! 😊
